Shane Cronin

In just two seasons of coaching in CHSAA at Littleton High School (2011) and Mountain Vista High School (2012), Cronin coached the Littleton High School Girls 4x400-M All - Classification State Record and  5A Girls State Champions. Four members of that relay, all Juniors, competed and placed in the Finals and top 9 finishers in the 5A 400-M. The Littleton Girls also acquired a State 4x200-M 2nd place finish, a 3rd Place Sprint Medley 3rd place finish, a 10th Place 4x800-M finish, and State Prelims participating 4x100-M. while at Mountain Vista High School in 2012 Cronin coached the boys to a sweep of breaking school records in the short sprints and short sprint relays in the 100-M, 200-M, 4x100-M, 4x200-M and a 5A 6th Place finish in the Boys 200-M. At Mountain Vista, Cronin helped place three athletes into the top six 100m dash performers list in Vista school history. Cronin's club/private team training accomplishments including every member but one of his track club qualifying for finals at the 2008 USATF Colorado Youth State championships

 

Cronin was a state champion in the 2005 Colorado State Championships in the 4x100 -M and runner up in the 400-M and 4x400-M. Cronin was six-time All-Continental League. Cronin competed in the 2005 USATF National Championships in the 200-M, 400-M, and was a member of a 3rd place 4x400-M and Top 8 finalist in the 4x100-M. Cronin also competed in the 2005 USATF National Junior Olympics in the 200-M, 400-M, and was a member of a 5th place 4x400-M and Top 8 finalist in the 4x100-M. Cronin also competed for the team USA “B” team 4x100 at the 2005 Great Southwest Track Meet and also represented team Colorado in the 400-M and 4x400-M

 

Cronin competed at Utah State University and the University of Colorado-Boulder where he was a 4x400-M Western Athletic Conference competitor at USU, and was a 400-M competitor on the 2008 Big 12 Champion CU team- the second Conference Championship team in CU history

 

Cronin has worked for Sports Performance Centers, coached athletes starting as a Head Track Coach at 19-years old in 2007, served as a certified personal trainer, and currently is a Social Studies and PE teacher Cherry Creek School District, in Colorado

Coach Vigil

Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Littleton High school 2010-2013. Vigil was All-American at Adams state under legendary USA Olympic Distance Coach Dr. Joe Vigil, ran a sub 4-minute mile and competed in the olympic trials. Vigil trained NCAA indoor mile record holder Kaela Edwards at littleton high school who swept the 400, 800, and mile at the 2013 state championships. Vigil coached Woody Kincaid to the CHSAA 2010 Cross Country individual state champion, North American record holder in the indoor 5,000m and Team USA Olympian in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic. Vigil also coached the # 2 and # 3 fastest Girls 4x400's in Colorado State History for High School level competition. Vigil is well-versed in human performance science with a masters and bachelors degree in exercise sciences

Coach Kula

Trainer for NFL running back christian Mccaffery, us heptathlon/pentathlon national record holder anna hall, head coach of boys and girls "sweep" Colorado state championships team titles at littleton high school in 2009 and 2019 at valor christian, girls three-peat state champions at valor christian. Kula was Cronin's most recent track & Field and Strength & Conditioning coach during his unattached training campaign placing 2nd place finish in the 400m at the Rocky Mountain state games. Coach Kula has worked with thousands of athletes in his career as a track & field, sport performance and football coach. He has coached multiple National Champions, All-Americans, Gatorade Players of the Year and State Champions in a variety of sports. Kula has 24 years experience in the athletic development of athletes at all levels from youth to professional. He has been certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from UNC in 1996 and began his professional career in the same year. In addition to many years as a head track coach and architect of numerous championships and records, Kula also coached football and operated strength and conditioning programs. He directed all facets of strength, speed, agility, conditioning, testing, recovery and nutrition. Kula has been a presenter at coaching clinics for speed development and training programs in a number of states and consulted for various programs around the country. Developing athletes in various sports at multiple levels, Kula has worked with professional and Division 1 athletes from over 30 universities across the country including notable local athletes Christian McCaffrey - #8 Overall NFL Draft Pick ’17 (Carolina Panthers), Janine Beckie - #8 Overall NWSL Draft Pick '16 (Manchester City/Team Canada), Anna Hall - US Record Heptathlon/Pentathlon ‘19 (Florida) , Jeremy Dodson - Olympian '12/'16 (Samoa), MaryBeth Sant – US #1 100m ‘13 (Oregon/CSU), Evan Baylis - Tight End (Kansas City Chiefs) and many other elite athletes. Before retiring in 2021 from Valor Christian High School, Kula served as an athletic director, head track and football coach. His passion and success for the development of athletes to maximize their potential has been recognized at the state, regional and national level. As an athlete, Kula was an accomplished Decathlete at the University of Northern Colorado earning All-American honors and played wide receiver for the football team. He was inducted into the UNC Hall of Fame, class of 2014.

 

Coach Brandon Couts

Brandon Couts served as assistant for sprints/hurdles at Colorado and Tarleton State University.  He has coached the Buffs to several school records, which include the men’s 4x100-meter relay and 200-meter dashes (indoor and outdoor).

 

Couts was a member of the track and field teams at Baylor University from 1998-2001 and served as the captain all four years. He was named the Baylor and Big 12 Athlete of the Year in 2000. The 13-time All-American was a four-time NCAA Champion. Couts’ first championship was in 1998 in the indoor 4x400-meter relay. He also won the indoor 400-m in 2000 with a then-collegiate record 45.60 seconds. Couts took first in the outdoor 4x400-m in 2000 and 2001. He holds the Baylor record for the most conference championships with 15 (seven individual and eight relay) and was named to the Big 12 10th Anniversary Team.

 

As one of the most decorated Big 12 athletes, Couts was featured on the cover of Track & Field News in June, 1998. After his collegiate career, he went on to pursue a professional career from May 2002 through August of 2004. He was sponsored by Nike and represented the United States in several events; including the Texas Relays, Millrose Games and the Penn Relays.  He won the 2002 U.S. Indoor 400-m and is the former World Juniors (45.53) and NCAA (45.60) record holder at the 400-m indoor dash.

Couts ran on the gold-medal winning 4x400-m relay teams in 1999 and 2001 at the World University Games. He anchored the USA team to gold at the 2002 NACAC Championships. In addition to his indoor records, he boosts outdoor pr’s of 10.15 (100-m), 20.48 (200-m) and 44.72 (400-m).

 

Couts was a volunteer sprints coach at Texas A&M-Commerce from January through June 2004. He has coached 13 All-Americans, which included CU’s men’s 4x100-meter relay team which placed sixth at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championship.  He has an official USATF level 1 certification.

 

Coach Gensel

Prior to being named head coach in 1988 at Utah State, the 50-year-old Gensel was an assistant coach for five years and a graduate assistant coach for one year. As an assistant, he worked with all field events and with the sprinters. Currently, Gensel works specifically with cross country, distance athletes and high jumpers along with his head coaching responsibilities. During his tenure at USU, Gensel has coached the Aggies to 18 Big West Conference Championships in both men's and women's cross country and track and field, including the men winning the 2005 WAC Cross Country championship. The Aggie women have won six of the last 10 track titles while the men have won seven of the last 10 championships. He has coached 127 conference individual champions and 28 All-Americans. In the 1998-99 school year, Gensel guided both the men's and women's track teams to Big West Conference Championships along with a first-ever women's crown in cross country. Gensel has been named the Big West Conference Coach of the Year 16 times during his career, including men's cross country in 2002 and men's outdoor track in 2003. He was also named the WAC's cross country coach of the year in 2005. He earned coach of the year honors in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation after the men's team won the indoor title in 1993. Athletes to earn NCAA All-America status under Gensel include: LaDonna Antoine (400), Shane Bingham (1,500, mile), Mark Calvin (pole vault), Craig Carter (hammer throw, 35-pound weight), Shae Bair (pole vault), John Kelly (javelin), Corey Murdock (400 outdoor hurdles, 400 indoor hurdles), James Parker (hammer throw, 35-pound weight, discus), Lance White (pole vault), Dave Hoffman (high jump), Brett Guyman (400 outdoor hurdles) and Rebekah Thornley (1500). A native of Long Beach, Calif., Gensel attended Utah State and was a middle-distance runner for the Aggies, finishing sixth in the 1,500-meters at the Pacific Coast Athletic Association Championships in 1981 (now the Big West Conference). Gensel earned a bachelor's degree in health in 1981 and earned a master's in physical education with an emphasis in sport psychology in 1988, both from USU. He has been certified as a Level II coach by USA Track & Field, the national track and field governing body, and is also a Level I certified instructor. He and his wife, Kaye, have four children: Chelsey, Janaea, Morgan and Britton.

Coach Croft

Croft was the head coach at Iowa Western Community College for both the cross country and track and field programs. During his tenure at Iowa Western, Croft help steer the program to its first-ever appearance at nationals.

​

Before Iowa Western, Croft was the assistant track and field coach at Utah State from 1999-2006. While there, Croft was instrumental in helping the university become Men’s Big West Conference champions in 2002 and 2003, Big West champions in men’s 4x100 and 200, and Women’s Conference champions in 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters.

As a coach Croft has developed many attributes for helping his student-athletes make the transition from high school to college athletics. He knows the demands that are asked of collegiate athletes and he has the strength and vision to help motivate, supervise academic progress, develop a winning mentality in his student athletes and help the athletes gain self-confidence and self-respect. Some of his career goals include being an integral part of the development of student-athletes and help provide opportunities to his athletes to develop into responsible individuals.

 

Coach Wintrich

Frank Wintrich is an O2X On-Site Specialist who provides comprehensive training for tactical athletes within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)

He spent 19 years at the NCAA Division I level working with a variety of athletes to develop holistic training that allows for peak physical and psychological performance in their respective sports discipline

A few of his notable roles include: Director of Football Performance at UCLA, Program Director for University of North Texas, BYU, and University of Virginia, Associate Director of S&C at University of South Florida, Director of Athletic Performance at The Citadel, and Assistant S&C Coach at Utah State and Arizona State. After his stint in college athletics, he worked as a S&C Coach with U.S. Army’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division

His coaching style begins with developing the minds of athletes through the utilization of the Self Aware Athlete program. This educational resource teaches athletes how to understand their bodies in order to better provide for their everyday physical and emotional needs.

2000 NCAA 4x400 National Champion at Baylor University, coach of the Colorado state record holder jt Scheuerman us # 2 and USATF junior olympics/nike nationals national champion, Michael Liggins NJCAA 4x400 national champion at Baylor. both Scheuerman and Liggins joined coach Hauser on Baylor's 46 second or faster all-time list at "Quartermile U". Peter Hauser exploded onto the Track & Field scene in 2004, assaulting the Chaparral High School Track & Field Record books that stand nearly 20 years later 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 200m, and 400m. During that time, Hauser coached JT Scheuerman, Michael Liggins, and Dustin Rommel who competed on Hauser's USATF Track Club "Kryptonite Speed Team" to Continental League top 4 finishes in the sprints and sprint relays.
